Take time today for self-care, self-love, and self-respect. When I was single “back in the day” I always celebrated ME on valentines day. I never sat at home whining or crying that I didn’t have a date, if nobody asked me out – I took myself out to dinner and a movie.
“So you plant your own garden and decorate your own soul, instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers. And you learn that you really can endure . . . that you really are strong, you really do have worth. And you learn and learn . . . with every goodbye you learn.”

This is personal for me, I lost my younger brother John in 2016 from complications of kidney failure. He was on the list waiting for a kidney for a few years. He was a volunteer fire fighter and knew the importance of organ donation. He was an organ donor – when he passed the organs that could help others to have a brighter future was the legacy he left behind. John also donated his tissue for further studies of kidney failure, and I’m sure so that his children don’t have to travel down the same road of illness as he did. I miss him everyday, but I am comforted to know that his organ donation has saved lives.
