The First Step Clearly Defines What It Is You’re After
I had a moment of Clarity last week. It came when I was going through the clutter in my office that had accumulated in the past few days, trying to get ready for another work week of building relationships, scheduling my content for my blog, deciding what flyer to send to the printer, and the many other things solo business owners must get done.
My moment came when I realized that finishing my book has been front and center in my thoughts and dreams. So, I made the first step – after I organized a few weekly business content and information. I then made a home for all my “Book Stuff” – I put it out in the open (not hiding in the back of the closet) to access, to write notes, to start my research and interviews.
It was a small step – but a step none the less!
What’s your first step?

Are You Worth it?
12 brand new chapters for 2019 – How will you write yours? Will you even think you’re worth putting your words down on paper?
I say . . . . Yes you are!
Everyone has a story inside them a “unique, nobody tells like you” story. Tell it – tell it to the world. I want to hear your story, I want to learn from your story, I want to help my children with your story, I want to heal my marriage with your story, I want to know how to live without drinking with your story, I want to know how to survive without drugs with your story, I want to know how I can help my community with your story, I want to know how I can help my loved one with your story, I want to change my world with your story.
You see how your story can help the universe?
I say . . . . Yes you can!
We will be in this together, I am writing my book – with a publish date of June 15, 2019. Oh my goodness – I am scared as hell but I’m “doing it afraid” – it’s a weird phenomenon but it keeps me focused. I think its because when you’re afraid of anything you get sort of scatterbrained, pacing trying to find a safe place. When I “do it afraid” – I am focused on my plan, concentrating on the project and not on the fear. I stay focused – get the project completed – and puck later!
Let’s start a stream of stories this year . . . .

How hungry are you?
Do you ever put off your dreams? Do you tell yourself it’s not the right time or moment, you always saying next month, next year. If you want to stay hungry – you have got to fight to keep your dream alive. If left unfulfilled and not nourished that hunger – that desire – that passion will fade over time. Keep Your Dream Alive ~ Its your Time!
Here are 5 ways I keep in the fight of Living My Own Dream:
- Write down your dreams. I personally reread them to myself after writing them down so I can hear my own voice speaking the words – this way when someone speaks those same words to me the first time I will not be surprised or shocked I heard them before. I lived this moment before in my mind.
- Spend just 5 minutes a day on it. I commit to small actions daily – at times my actions are microscopic (a speck but its a speck that was not there previously), you’ll find yourself pushing harder to make time for your dream.
- You must give up something so you can spend time with your dream. Here’s a powerful formula to use when you NEED to make time for your dream – “I wish I could, but I really have to __________________________.” There is not a plethora of items that would take presence over your dream – this is a tool that has helped me to be disciplined with my time.
- Have your friends and family support you and keep you focused. At times its challenging to keep yourself motivated. I have support with my online group of like-minded dreamers, networking groups that offer feedback and suggestions. My husband and I communicate daily about my progress, I appreciate his feedback and great advice. Their support helps keep me motivated toward living my dream.
- Visualize yourself living it. I personally have used visualization since 1995. I visualize each of my steps toward my dream. I imagine how moments are going to feel, my thoughts at the moment, my personality at the moment I even visualize what I am wearing. This process slowly changes me, over the years I have become more assertive. When a situation comes up – in my mind I have already lived it, I just now need to enjoy the moment with confidence not fear. Stay hungry!
