What’s In? Items made by hand using sustainable materials like jute, rice paper, and clay are popular in 2019. I’m seeing people needing these grounding elements in their homes as a way to feel more in touch with the earth and their roots.
What’s Out? When space has too many things going on–to the point where you can barely utilize a surface area for function–it creates chaos. I am a lover of eclecticism, and you’ll see it in a lot of my designs, but what I don’t love, and hope to bid farewell to, is “eclecticism on steroids!”
My brother and I had our seats sitting in front of the TV to watch cartoons every weekend, until we hear the bellowing of her voice from the kitchen “turn off that TV and get your asses outside”. Oh how I miss those days – MADE to go outside – TURN OFF the TV – SPEND time together.
Crazy concept . . . right?
Kidding aside we need this kind of weekends again, our children need this kind of weekends – FUN – NO STRESS – JUST BEING A KID.
. . . Let’s bring back the fun!!

My new trend to start tomorrow would be a Walking Network Meeting Club ~ not meeting for a breakfast – not meeting for coffee – not another meeting where everyone is sitting around, no more of that for morning meetings! I would like to start this trend with the Women Small Business Owners in my local area. Every week, we meet at a new Walking Meeting Place for what I would call a Walk & Talk where we discuss about business problems . . . but ALWAYS ending the walk with solutions for the week. This trend I have had in my business journal since July 1998 – stay tuned a trend could be developing with the blossom coming soon!
I would love to read everyone else’s trends – It’s a new year of beginnings . . . . . . .
This chick has great ideas . . . cheap . . . simple – my kind of girl!
I thought some of my make-up artist chickcas’ could use some of her light-weight merchandising ideas – that don’t take up a lot of room with the ease of set up. I am also thinking of my “Staging Sweetys” out there, in reference to some great “Decorating on the Go” designs. Enjoy!
