Helping The Homeless

What a wonderful program in Nashville – We could use this kindness all over the country~

“Our homes are mirrors of ourselves. They reflect our importance, our character, or indecision, our spirit and our desires. Our homes tell a story about how we feel about ourselves and the world around us.”

I have accepted a position with the Thames River Community Service in Norwich, I will be working with the homeless community in our area. Do Not Fear – this is a part time position, so I will be continuing with my Home Concierge business. I am honored to be a part of this team, and for me to utilize my skill-set to make a difference in someone else’s life.

Here is just a short description of what this service offers to the homeless community.

Three years ago, Thames River Community Service, Inc. (TRCS) began prioritizing this program to serve young parents and their children. Since May 2017, TRCS has become a transitional housing program for families headed by youth between 18-24 years of age. They are mothers, fathers, or couples who have been in the foster care system themselves, have been victims of human trafficking, have been homeless or unstably housed, with little or no healthy support system. While at TRFP they work with our staff to develop life skills, including parenting, employment and tenancy. This enables many to leave TRFP for permanent housing within a year.

I am very excited to bring my ‘Tool Box’ of experience and skills that can help these young adults to provide a safe haven for themselves and their children.
